Three ways to work together

I take six to eight clients a year, one at a time. Every engagement starts with a free thirty minute call so we can both find out whether this is worth doing. If it is not, I will say so and point you at whichever guide covers it.

Site review

450 dollarsOne off. Written review, delivered in about ten working days, with a call to talk it through.

I go through your site the way a new member would, then the way an owner would. Pricing and how it is presented, the path from landing on the site to being a member, the first fortnight, how the material is organised, and what happens when someone tries to leave.

You get a written review of what I found, what I would change, and the order I would change it in. Not a list of forty observations. Usually five or six things that matter, with the reasoning, so you can disagree with me properly.

  • A written review, normally eight to twelve pages.
  • A prioritised list of changes, most valuable first.
  • A sixty minute call to go through it and argue with me.
  • Two weeks of follow up questions afterwards, by message.

Pricing and retention workshop

1,200 dollarsHalf a day, up to six people from one organisation, remote or in person if you are near enough.

A working session rather than a talk. We take your actual numbers and your actual site, and by the end you have decided something: a price, a model, a retention change, and who is doing what.

It suits teams where the decision keeps getting deferred because two reasonable people disagree. Having someone outside the room who has seen both arguments before tends to unstick that in an afternoon.

  • A short questionnaire and a look at your numbers beforehand.
  • Half a day of working session, structured around your decisions rather than my slides.
  • A written summary of what was decided, sent within three days.
  • A follow up call six weeks later, included.

Monthly advisory

From 900 dollars a monthUsually three to six months. Monthly, cancel with thirty days notice.

For owners in the middle of changing something substantial: moving a price, restructuring an archive, opening a community, rebuilding onboarding. A call every fortnight, and answers in between when something comes up.

The price starts at 900 dollars and depends on how much of the work you want me looking at directly. I will quote a figure on the first call and it does not move afterwards.

  • A sixty minute call every fortnight, with notes afterwards.
  • Questions answered between calls, normally within a working day.
  • I read the things you are about to send to members before you send them.
  • A short written plan at the start, revised as we go.

How an engagement starts

  1. You write to me at hello@bestmembershipwebsite.com with a few lines about the site and what is bothering you.
  2. We talk for thirty minutes, free, no preparation needed. I ask a lot of questions.
  3. If it is worth doing, I send a short note confirming the scope, the price and the dates.
  4. Payment is on completion for a review, half in advance for a workshop, monthly in advance for advisory.

What I do not do

I do not build sites, run them for you, or take a share of revenue. I do not sell or resell software, and I take no commission from any platform, which is why you will not find a list of recommended tools anywhere here. I do not work with more than one site in the same subject at the same time.
