What this site is

Best Membership Website is a publication and a small consulting practice run by Delia Marchbank. The guides are published for anyone to read at no cost. Reading them creates no relationship between us beyond that.

The guides are general, your site is not

Everything written here is general guidance drawn from my own experience and from work with other sites. It is not tailored to your circumstances, and it is not legal, tax, accounting or financial advice. Decisions about your pricing, your terms and your members remain yours. I am not responsible for the outcome of a decision you make after reading something here.

Consulting engagements

Anything described on the services page is an outline, not an offer. An engagement begins only when I have sent you a written note confirming the scope, the price and the dates, and you have agreed to it. That note, together with these terms, is the whole agreement between us, and where the two conflict, the note wins.

Fees, payment timing and the cancellation position for each engagement are set out on the services and frequently asked pages, and are repeated in the confirming note.

Using what is written here

The words, structure and design of this site belong to me. You are welcome to quote a short passage with a link back, to share a guide with a colleague, and to print a page for your own use. Republishing a guide in full, translating it, or presenting it as your own is not permitted without my written agreement, which I give more often than you would expect if you ask.

Availability

This is a small site run by one person. It may be unavailable at times, and pages may be revised or removed. Where a guide is substantially revised, the revision date on it changes so you can see that it happened.

Links to other sites

Where a page links somewhere else, that site is not under my control and these terms do not cover it. Nothing linked from here is a paid placement, and there are no affiliate arrangements anywhere on this site.

Limits

The site is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, I am not liable for loss arising from your use of it. Nothing here limits liability for anything that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes to these terms

These terms may change. The reviewed date at the top of this page changes with them, and the terms in force when an engagement was confirmed are the ones that apply to that engagement.
